Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF)

   Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) is an effective process used for separation of suspended solids, oils and greases, and other insoluble impurities from water. Pretreatment of wastewater lowers total suspended solids (TSS), oils and greases, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), and metal concentrations. Some of the DAF clarified effluent is recirculated and supersaturated with air. When this water is released into the skiming tank, air-bubbles carry the suspended solids to
the surface for removal.

 

What is MB-DAF?

   MB-DAF, Micro Bubble Dissolved Air Flotation is a type of clarification process that relies on flotation of floc particles. In the process, micro bubbles attached to suspended solids and float them to the water surface. MB-DAF systems effectively remove oil & greases, suspended solid and chemicals sludge from a variety of wastewater.

 

 

Advantages of MB-DAF System

Smaller footprint
   MB-DAF system significantly improves the efficiency and reduces the footprint up to 3-10 times compared to gravity sedimentation system making MBDAF system is the most suitable where space is limited.

More efficiency and Faster operation
   Micro-bubbles generated by the MB-DAF system are smaller than size of the particles in order to attach and raise them to the water surface. MBDAF system can produce air microbubble as small as 1-30 micrometer, the water treated with MB-DAF system is about 3 times clearer and 5 times faster than the conventional sedimentation system.

Less energy consumption
   MB-DAF system needs no compresed air and inline-static mixer, then needs less energy consumtion. MB-DAF system energy consuption is about 1.5- 2 times less than the conventional sedimentation system.
